 WSNTA – Day Trips Event

marwood hill gardens & quince honey farm - Thu 16 July 2026

Marwood Hill Gardens is a very special private garden covering an area of 20 acres with three lakes set in a valley tucked away 4 miles north of Barnstable. Created by Dr Jimmy Smart in the late 1950's and awardedthe Camellia Gardens of Excellence Award in 2005. The Gardens are a wonderful haven in which to relax and enjoy the impresive collections of plants, shrubs and trees and experience the views, peaceful atmosphere and colour around every corner. The Walled Garden Plant Sales area is sure to tempt you with a variety of unusual plants for sale. On arrival we will have a welcome talk while we enjoy tea, coffee and cake. The tea room has a good selection of light lunches for you to buy.                                                                                                                                                                             We will then travel by coach to our second destination, Quince Honey Farm, where we will have a bee-spoke introductory talk. We will get some honey tasting too and full access to the attraction and tours and to explore at our leisure, including their pollinator-friendly Nectar Gardens, the Honey Factory, the exhibitionand the Bee Shed where there are numerous hives on display. Before we leave we will be treated to a cream tea which will be a mixture of plain or fruit scones with clotted cream, jam and their own honey.
