The pickturesque historic market town of Bradford-on-Avon is famous for its honey-coloured Georgian architecture. The ancient town bridge with its medieval jail and the spectacular 14th century Tithe Barn are full of interest. On arrival we will set down near the centre where you will be free to explore and have lunch in one of the many eateries before making your way to the Bradford-on-Avon Wharf for 1.15 pm to board the Barbara Mclellan Canal Boat for a 21/2 hour trip along the Kennet and Avon Canal to Avancliff and back. On board you will be able to purchase drinks, cake and snacks but if you would like  cream tea, this can be arranged to be delivered and set out on the boat from the cafe at Avoncliff. This would need to be pre-ordered and paid for on the day, the cost £5,50 for 1 scone, cream and jam, or £7.00 for 2 scones, plus tea purchased on board. I have arranged with member Brian Heaton and a musician friend that they will play for us on board so we will be entertained and have a sing-song.
