Mapperton House, family seat of the Earl and Viscountess of Sandwich is now the home of their son and daughter-in-law, the Viscount and Viscountess Hinchingbrooke. This picturesque Jacobean house dates back to 1540 and has been described as the nation’s finest. It was the principal location for the 2015 film “Far from the Madding Crowd”. The Award winning gardens have recently been featured on TV Channel 5’s Dorset Coast and Country.
On arrival we will have coffee/tea and biscuits (included in the price) and then be split into three groups for tours of the house.
There is a café on site offering lunches between 12 & 3 pm. Their menu for groups costs £12pp, and needs to be pre-ordered if required.
