hartland abbey & gardens - Wed 16 July 2025
Hartland Abbeyl, founded by Augustinian Monks in 1157 survived longer than any other Monastry in England because Henry V111 gifted it to the Sergeant of his wine cellsr whose decendants stil live there to this day. A popular film location used by the BBc and others: Sense & Sensibility, The Antiques Road Show, The Night Manager being filmed there. We will stop for Coffee/Tea & light refreshments at the Merry Harriers Garden Centre before arriving at the Abbey where we will be split into 2 groups for a guided tour of the house, after which we you will be free to enjoy the gardens. Homemade light lunches , cream teas etc & hot drinks are available in the Old Kitchens
