A beautiful historic estate on the western edge of Swindon. An exquisite house, stunning walled garden and landscaped park.

We will have a guided tour of the state rooms of Lydiard House Museum, where there’s a wealth of history waiting to be discovered with its celebrated ornate plasterwork, original furnishings and family portraits dating back to Elizabethan times. The Georgian ornamental fruit and flower Walled Garden has been faithfully restored with stunning displays of flowers, fruit trees and topiary, and in the Park there is more evidence of this once-great country estate, including the castellated dam wall, Ice House and grand avenues.

Three possibilities for food and drink – the Coach House tea rooms, Forest Café or Palm Bar and Restaurant in the Lydiard Hotel which is connected to the house. Accessibility wise, the museum is all on the ground floor with routes which are mobility scooter friendly.
