WSNTA – Day Trips Event
bristol botanic gardens - Thu 06 May 2027
Enjoy a visit to the Bristol Botanic Gardens established in 1882 and the first University Botanic Gardens to be created. A grant of £15 was given to Adolf Leipner (lecturer of Botany). Leipner raised an additional £89 (equivalent in today's money of £16,239,69p approximately) and the garden was built.
There are over 4500 labelled species of plants with ponds and large greenhouses to explore, and four different climates including tropical and sub tropical zones.
See Lotus flowers and discover where chocolate comes from. Visit the Chinese herb garden and look out for birds, mammals and insects by the pond or in the peaceful wooded areas.
