Join us for five nights on the Isle of Wight. A pocket-sized wonderland yet bursting with charm, character and experiences just off England’s south coast. It packs a punch with Royal favourites, steam trains, Roman villas, big houses, little houses and much more within just 26.5 miles. Travelling on the Isle of Wight Ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth we then head to our hotel: the Bembridge Coast. Now a Warner Hotel, it was once owned by George V’s Lord-in-Waiting. Overlooking the Solent it was a favourite location of the late Queen’s Mother to watch the yachts racing throughout Cowes Week. During our five-nights stay we hope to explore a variety of what is on offer, including a National Trust Garden, a Roman villa, a steam railway, one of the Island’s most important historic houses and estates which was once the home of the celebrated Victorian Poet Laureate Alfred, Lord Tennyson. What to my mind is one of the best model villages you will ever see and a donkey sanctuary which provides a forever home and exceptional care for donkeys and equines. Hopefully, we will also visit Osborne House. However, I still have some work to do to complete our itinerary.
